Dr. Sainsbury has been practicing general dentistry for the last 15 years. Throughout his professional years as a dentist, he encountered patients with symptoms related to temporomandibular joint dysfunctions (TMDs) and was led to inquire more about these issues including primary headaches, nerve pain, and sleep related breathing disorders. Dr. Sainsbury completed his residency program at the University of Southern California where he obtained a master’s degree in orofacial pain and oral medicine.

Here at The TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre, he is able to address the issues people face with a non-surgical, therapeutic approach and identify the root causes of tmd/tmj & sleep related issues. Outside of work, Dr. Sainsbury enjoys spending time with his family and friends which includes attending collegiate sporting events (cheering on his alma mater, the University of Washington Huskies – Go Dawgs!), Padres games, hiking, traveling, church, and enjoying all that life has to offer. He believes it is important to practice mindfulness and attends meditation retreats as often as he can. Dr. Sainsbury is board certified in orofacial pain and has garnered many awards and recognitions throughout his life – but the most important ones are the “thank-you’s” from his patients.

Victoria is the Practice Administrator and Treatment Coordinator, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly day-to-day. She is passionate about helping patients find relief through the treatments offered at the practice. With a background in pharmaceuticals, over a decade of experience at a regional hospital, and an undergraduate degree from Columbia Basin College, healthcare has always been central to her life.

Originally from the Columbia Basin in Eastern Washington, Victoria was raised with a strong work ethic in a close-knit family. Now living in San Diego, she and Dr. Sainsbury are proud parents of four boys. Outside of work, Victoria enjoys running, biking, hiking, traveling, church activities, and has a deep love for the arts. Working alongside her fiancé, Dr. Sainsbury, Victoria is proud of the positive impact they’ve made on their patients and is dedicated to supporting the clinic's mission and the community they serve.

Ashley is a medical and dental assistant here at TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre of San Diego. With three years of experience as a medical assistant and two months in the dental field, Ashley brings a compassionate and detail-oriented approach to patient care. She finds the most fulfillment in helping patients who suffer from TMJ disorders find relief and comfort. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys unwinding with a good book on her Kindle, curled up on the couch with her dog.

Katya is the Patient Coordinator here at Dr. Sainsbury's office, bringing four years of experience in the field. What she enjoys most about her role is the opportunity to connect with patients and build meaningful relationships. Katya finds it deeply rewarding to support patients throughout their care journey and be a consistent, positive presence in their experience. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active—whether it’s hiking, going to the gym, or simply spending time outdoors. She also loves spending time with friends and discovering new spots around town.  

​​​​​Angelica is a clinical assistant at TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre bringing over 7 years of experience in dental TMJ assistance. She is passionate about helping patients manage TMJ disorders and sleep apnea with care and precision. Outside of work, Angelica enjoys paddle boarding with her dogs and discovering new restaurants.
