Dr. Sainsbury has been practicing general dentistry for the last 15 years. Throughout his professional years as a dentist, he encountered patients with symptoms related to temporomandibular joint dysfunctions (TMDs) and was led to inquire more about these issues including primary headaches, nerve pain, and sleep related breathing disorders. Dr. Sainsbury completed his residency program at the University of Southern California where he obtained a master’s degree in orofacial pain and oral medicine.

Here at The TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre, he is able to address the issues people face with a non-surgical, therapeutic approach and identify the root causes of tmd/tmj & sleep related issues. Outside of work, Dr. Sainsbury enjoys spending time with his family and friends which includes attending collegiate sporting events (cheering on his alma mater, the University of Washington Huskies – Go Dawgs!), Padres games, hiking, traveling, church, and enjoying all that life has to offer. He believes it is important to practice mindfulness and attends meditation retreats as often as he can. Dr. Sainsbury is board certified in orofacial pain and has garnered many awards and recognitions throughout his life – but the most important ones are the “thank-you’s” from his patients.

Victoria is the Practice Administrator and Treatment Coordinator, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly day-to-day. She is passionate about helping patients find relief through the treatments offered at the practice. With a background in pharmaceuticals, over a decade of experience at a regional hospital, and an undergraduate degree from Columbia Basin College, healthcare has always been central to her life.

Originally from the Columbia Basin in Eastern Washington, Victoria was raised with a strong work ethic in a close-knit family. Now living in San Diego, she and Dr. Sainsbury are proud parents of four boys. Outside of work, Victoria enjoys running, biking, hiking, traveling, church activities, and has a deep love for the arts. Working alongside her fiancé, Dr. Sainsbury, Victoria is proud of the positive impact they’ve made on their patients and is dedicated to supporting the clinic's mission and the community they serve.

​​​​​Born and raised in San Diego, Marlen has been dedicated to the medical field since 2011, starting her journey as a Certified Medical Assistant. Her passion has always been centered around caring for and helping others, which is why she thrives in her role here at our office. She takes pride in combining patient care and administrative skills to ensure each patient feels valued and cared for throughout their experience. Outside of work, she cherishes spending time with her family, being a dedicated mom, watching movies, and exploring new places to create memorable experiences.

​​​​​With over 8 years of experience at the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre, Jana is committed to improving her patients' quality of life by helping them manage and alleviate their pain. Born and raised in San Diego, she brings a personal touch to her work, ensuring each patient feels supported. When she's not at work, Jana enjoys relaxing at the beach or the movies with her son, and caring for her cats.

​​​​​Angelica is a clinical assistant at TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre bringing over 7 years of experience in dental TMJ assistance. She is passionate about helping patients manage TMJ disorders and sleep apnea with care and precision. Outside of work, Angelica enjoys paddle boarding with her dogs and discovering new restaurants.
